UFC 214 - Cyborg Justino vs. Tonya Evinger

Last night at UFC 214: Cormier vs. Jones 2 "Cyborg" Justino (18-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) defeated Tonya Evinger (19-6 MMA, 0-1 UFC).
Cyborg won via TKO (knees) in the 3rd round.
This makes Cyborg the new UFC Women's Featherweight Champion.

Also on the card, Aleksandra Albu defeated Kailin Curran via Decision (unanimous).

Sara McMann and Ketlen Vieira were supposed to face each other at the event, but back on July 7th it was announced that the bout was to be moved to UFC 215 in September

Yana Kunitskaya vs Tonya Evinger at Invicta FC 20

Tonight at Invicta FC 20 at the Kansas City Scottish Rite Temple, in Kansas City, Missouri, Yana Kunitskaya will be taking on Tonya Evinger.
Yana is 9-2-0 and Tonya is 18-5-0.

So did anyone catch Bruce Lee and Gina Carano in one of the Pepsi Superbowl ads?
The commercial was doing the " old / new" thing and had a short clip of Lee followed by a short clip of Carano.
I love Gina to death, but to compare her to Bruce Lee?

Gina Carano defeats Tonya Evinger

Gina Carano defeated Tonya Evinger by choke submission in a 140-pound female bout.

Carano, who is considered the most popular female competitor in mixed martial arts, got on Evinger's back and then put on a rear-naked choke hold. Evinger submitted 2:53 into the first round.

"I pulled off a submission — my first one — so I was happy about that," Carano said. "But I didn't get to use any punches or kicks so I feel unfulfilled."

Carano improved to 5-0, while Evinger dropped to 5-2.

EliteXC officials announced after the bout that Carano would likely fight for an inaugural women's world championship in her next bout.
