Julie Kedzie

I haven't had anything here about female mma fighter Julie Kedzie in a while.
So why not do something now?
Julie is trained in Taekwondo (third degree black belt), Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Since my last write up on her, her last win was over Angela Hayes at Battlequest 8 on April 11, 2008.
But on March 14th, she lost to Sarah Schneider by a round one tapout due to a Rear Naked Choke.

Brittany S.'s name was changed to McKey by Tyra.

After the scandal, Gillian Chung is set to revive her career as a gongfu star
Six months after being embroiled in the Edison Chen scandal, Twins member Gillian Chung seems set to return to showbiz.
Not as a pop idol, but an action heroine.

One-on-one with Rosi Sexton, PhD (Part I) | Fight Ticker

Exclusive: One-on-one with Rosi Sexton, PhD (Part I) | Fight Ticker:

"A few mixed martial artists have been heralded for their high educational accomplishments. But no elite mixed martial artist can come close to the level of education held by professional mixed martial artist, Rosi Sexton, who makes her home in the United Kingdom.

Coming off the heels of a tough split decision victory over Debi Purcell, the 9-1 EliteXC competitor took time to chat with me about everything from school to fighting to family. With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge and PhD in theoretical computer science from the University of Manchester, this fighter, healer, and mother breaks down her multitude of specialties. Oh, and while building her pro MMA career, she’s simultaneously finishing up another professional degree in osteopathy. Those darn over achievers!"

So there!

Brenda Song - Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu

Brenda Song (born March 27, 1988) is an American actress. She currently co-stars in the Disney Channel Original Series, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody as London Tipton. She has also made appearances in other Disney Channel original series and films.

Brenda holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, went into intensive Kung Fu training for the movie "Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior."

Dr. Laura Schlessinger - Black Belt

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a martial arts black belt.

"When I do anything, I do it one hundred percent," she told us, and that is no less true for her religious life than for her martial arts practice (at age fifty, she has a recently attained black belt in karate).

She is a tiny, karate-kickin’ perfect physical specimen, tireless and "hypereducated" (her term).

Dr. Laura is a wife, and, of course, she is her kid's mom. She is also a black belt in karate. Whether there is a relation between those two things I will let her say.

And she rattled on constantly about taking karate lessons, much like someone who’s, um, found religion. She seemed like a person who could easily cross the line between enthusiasm and obsession.

Lucy Liu - Martial Arts

" The 'Kill Bill' and 'Ally McBeal' actress practices martial arts, including kali/eskrima and silat."
http://www.your-martial-arts-resources.com/martial-arts-celebrities.html

"Her career took off when she auditioned for a supporting role in Andre Gregory's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland", where she actually landed the lead role. Lucy's success was partly due to her fluency in Mandarin, and also because of her practice of Kali-Eskrima-Silat, an Indonesian martial art."

Eesha Narang (Isha Koppikar) - Tae Kwon Do

Bollywood actress Eesha Narang has had more names than you can shake a stick at.
She has apppeared as Ishaa Kopikar, Isha Kopikar, Eesha Koppikar, Eesha Koppikhar and Eesha Timmy Narang.
I think it has to do with both numerology and getting married.
This lovely young lady from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India has a martial arts background...

"I start my day with Taekwondo and dancing."
http://www.your-martial-arts-resources.com/martial-arts-celebrities.html

Kanishka Sharma, a 29-year-old martial-arts expert, who choreographed the fight sequence in Don, has had doctors, teachers and designers punching and puffing at his Shaolin Chan Academy at Andrews Ganj . “Viveik Oberoi and Isha Koppikar too have shown interest in learning kickboxing,” says Sharma.

“But Shabri has more than made up for that,’ she says, after a pause, and elaborates: “Unlike the action in Don with its harness and cables, the action in Shabri is more real and raw, minus the technology. It’s back to boxes and sacks to break your falls. I was well-prepared for it as I’m a red belt in Taek Won Do and practise regularly.”
